Yallo price increase 2026: when switching makes sense after 1 August

Since 1 August 2026, customers with several Yallo mobile plans have been paying more. Depending on the plan, the monthly increase is between CHF 0.50 and CHF 2.00. At first glance, this may seem minor. Over a year, however, it can add up to as much as CHF 24 in additional costs – especially if your plan already has a higher promotional price than comparable offers.

The price increase is not the only decisive factor. Also check the price you actually pay, which services you use and whether your personal discount applies indefinitely. Not everyone affected needs to switch.

These Yallo mobile plans are affected by the adjustment

According to Yallo’s price overview, the following monthly surcharges apply from 1 August 2026, depending on the mobile plan:

Plan familyMonthly price increaseWhat you should check
yallo SwissCHF 1.00Relevant if you mainly make calls and browse in Switzerland
yallo Swiss PlusCHF 1.00Check whether you really need the additional services abroad
yallo BlackCHF 2.00The increase has a greater impact with a long-term promotional price
yallo Black PlusCHF 2.00Compare roaming data and calling zones in particular
yallo Black MaxCHF 2.00Switching may be worthwhile if you rarely use the Max services
yallo EuropeCHF 0.50A small increase, but relevant if your budget is tight
yallo Europe MaxCHF 0.50Check how much data you actually need abroad

You can find the binding details of your contract and the affected plan variants in Yallo’s notification and in the Yallo price overview. The price shown on your bill from August 2026 onwards is always decisive.

List price and promotional price: the important difference

Many Yallo plans were taken out with a permanent promotional discount. As a result, the official list price is often significantly higher than the amount on your monthly bill.

The price actually charged is what matters for your decision. For example, if you previously paid CHF 24.90 as part of a promotion and your plan increases by CHF 2.00, it will now cost CHF 26.90 per month. Whether the list price is simultaneously CHF 79.90 or another amount does not initially change your actual cost.

Check these three points:

  • Does your bill show an indefinite promotional discount or a discount with an end date?
  • Does the increase also apply to your discounted price, or only to the list price?
  • Which services do you really use: data in Switzerland, EU roaming, international calls or an additional SIM?

An attractive promotional price can remain worthwhile despite the increase. If, for example, you need unlimited data in Switzerland and regularly use data in Europe, you should not switch solely because of CHF 1.00 or CHF 2.00. A new plan that appears cheaper may end up costing more once roaming or additional options are taken into account.

Special termination right: check the deadline in Yallo’s notification

In the event of a unilateral price adjustment, Yallo generally gives affected customers the option of terminating the affected contract as of the date of the change. However, the specific conditions and deadline stated in Yallo’s written price notification are decisive.

Since the adjustment already took effect on 1 August 2026, you should not assume that a special termination right is automatically still available on 20 August. Search for Yallo’s notification in your e-mail inbox, customer account or billing documents. It states by when and through which channel you could or can terminate the contract.

Important:

  • Termination should be carried out in a verifiable manner, for example through the customer account or in writing.
  • If you terminate outside the special deadline, the standard termination conditions of your plan apply.
  • Do not order a new plan too quickly before clarifying the number transfer.
  • In the event of porting, the new provider should initiate the number transfer. This helps you avoid interruptions or losing your number.

When you can stay with Yallo

Switching is not necessarily required if at least one of these points applies:

  • Even after the increase, your discounted price is clearly below that of comparable offers.
  • You regularly use the roaming services included in the plan.
  • You are satisfied with network coverage, data quality and customer service.
  • Your alternative would only be cheaper in the short term or would include fewer services.

Yallo uses the Sunrise network. If you have good reception at home, at work and along your regular routes, you do not necessarily need to change networks because of the adjustment. Therefore, compare not only the price but also network performance in the places where you actually use your mobile plan.

Which alternatives on the Sunrise network may make sense

If the price no longer suits you after the increase, you can specifically compare offers on the Sunrise network. Other Yallo plans are not the only relevant options; mobile plans from other brands using the same network may also be suitable.

Switching is particularly worth considering if you:

  • hardly ever or never browse abroad but pay for extensive roaming;
  • need considerably less data than your current plan includes;
  • have an old discount that will expire soon;
  • see potential savings from having several mobile plans in your household.

Use the mobile plan comparison to compare price, data volume, roaming and termination conditions. For a broader overview of contract and switching topics, also visit the Comparison section. You can find information on termination and number porting in our guides.

Conclusion: the increase alone is not the deciding factor

The Yallo price increase in 2026 amounts to a maximum of CHF 2.00 per month, but it can be a good reason to review your plan critically. What matters is your effective promotional price after 1 August, not the list price shown on the website.

Stay with Yallo if your plan continues to cover your usage at a favourable price. Switching is worthwhile if you are paying for services you do not use, your discount is expiring or a comparable offer on the Sunrise network is permanently cheaper. First check the deadline for your special termination right, then compare services rather than just monthly amounts.
